Adam "w0din" Sheffield & 2021 guild Master "Dr.Goon" demonstrate how one can quickly study and pass the ARRL Technician examination in less than two weeks, from your toilet. I learn from doing, not through books so the goal is to provide a framework to get all members that want to be licensed, licensed by the end of July so we can get hands-on and start learning. w0din and Dr. Goon will discuss how they got started (first radio, fun projects) and what they have learned since. This talk will serve as the kickoff to the Communicate like a Hacker series where we will begin bringing in subject matter experts from the local community that will lead to projects we can explore on-site. Once we get members licensed, we will be erecting our own antenna at the Undercroft and have a multi-band radio on site for the guild to learn and experiment.
