The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is the new cybersecurity "super standard" finalized this January, which requires third-party auditing and certification for those that want to do business with the Department of Defense (DoD). It organizes and brings together existing worldwide policies under one program to be rolled out government-wide to bring verified security practices to the entire supply chain. A main goal of the CMMC is to ensure that it doesn't become another meaningless checklist, as a response to the failure of current standards and GRC policies for cybersecurity in general.
